1. Saturday, May 12th, will be our Swim Checks at the Denton Natatorium. We will start at 10am. The cost is $2 per person. We will also work on 1st Class requirements for line rescues. This is the only planned swim check prior to Summer Camp. This swim check will also suffice for any Troop activities that might occur over the next year. This is a Class B event.
2. The May Scoutmaster discretion campout has been postponed to May 18th-20th so as to not conflict with the OA Ordeal, in addition to giving us a better opportunity.
3. Troop Elections are coming up this month. Please put your name and your desired position or positions. All positions are open with the exception of one quartermaster and Troop Guide. First year scouts should focus on advancement first. There are a lot of positions not yet signed up for, like SPL, ASPL, Patrol Leader, OA Rep, etc.
4. Sunday, May 27th, will be the Memorial Day preparations at Swisher Cemetery. We will meet at Swisher Cemetery on Shady Shores at 9am. This is a Class A event.
5. Monday, May 28th, will be the Memorial Day Service. We will meet at Swisher Cemetery at 8:30 am. This is a Class A event.
6. Saturday, June 2nd, will be our Street Clean-up service project. We will meet at the old LDP building at the corner of Swisher and Shady Shores at 9am. We will be done around 10:30 and be available for pickup at the old LDP building. Bring a water bottle and work gloves. This is a Class B event
7. Saturday, June 2nd, will be our End-Of-Year Court of Honor Banquet. The committee has agreed again this year to provide the main course. The rest will be pot luck sides and desserts. Doors will open at 5pm, and we will start serving between 5:30 and 6. Needless to say, this is a full Class A event.
8. We are 4 weeks from Summer Camp. Watch your emails for Summer Camp information. A packing list has been emailed out, Health forms with Physicals are due by May 17th, and final Summer Camp payments are also due by May 17th. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Duke.
